Licensing LF Connector using the silent install method

asked on May 19, 2016 Show version history

I will be deploying LF Connector to 150 PCs so I plan to use the silent installation batch file.   How will each of the workstations get the license file for the installation?  When I manually installed the Connector I chose the option to Activate using the Rio License Manager.  Is there a command within the batch file to use this method?  I saw one batch file that pointed to a specific location for the license file - is it possible to use one lf.licx file for all of the installations?  I tried this when I did it manually and it didn't work.

Also - I will also be silently installing the LF client can I combine these installs into a single batch file or do they need to be run separately?  Thanks

The license file is only necessary for the profile designer. It is not needed for the runtime installation, simply don't include the profile designer feature in the installation paramaters.

Justin,

do you mean there is not need of licence for use the connector? only is necessary a licence for the profile designer? How does the Laserfiche connector licence? thank you.

That's correct. A license is required for creating profiles, but not for running them. A license it not needed if you don't include the profile designer feature.

To your other question - windows doesn't let you run two installation processes at the same time, but you could have them run one after the other.
