Laserfiche and Citrix terminal servers

Other than scanning, are there any limitations on Laserfiche when installed on Citrix? Is Snapshot compatible? How is printing affected? As long as the printer is on the local machine, it should be able to print, is that correct?

 

I've seen on Answers that http://www.terminalworks.com/remote-desktop-scanning​ was used as a workaround for scanning. Is there any other suggestions?

Hey Sierra,

As you've probably seen in other Answers posts, Laserfiche does not offer support when scanning from a Citrix environment.  It's still possible using the program you linked above and other similar programs, but it's not something that we guarantee to work.  You can see this KB Article for more information.

 

Regarding printing, it's kind of like scanning.  It all depends if the Laserfiche system is able to see the appropriate devices.  If the print driver is available to Laserfiche, it will work, but making sure that the drivers are available can be a bit tricky, and may require the use of third party applications depending on how you plan to set it up.

 

In terms of Snapshot, check out this KB Article to learn how to install Snapshot as a network or shared printer.  I believe this is the configuration you'll need to ensure that Snapshot is available for use in Citrix.

I have a customer that is currently using a Citrix environment though when making the Snapshot printer a shared printer on the printer server the machine trying to access it has issues accessing Snapshot due to the lack of drivers. I can obtain the error message as well as open up a case if needed.

Hi I have LF in my Citrix environment and have used it for years and it worked well.

We recently upgraded to LF 9.2 and the new version of snapshot but now each time a user prints to the Snapshot printer they are being prompted to authenticate to LF and the repository.  I tried the Snapshot Shared printer but that prints to a default folder she is using Snapshot to print Payroll reports so I can not have a generic folder

Any suggestions???

Is there a permission setting on that printer that i could enable???

Hey Jack,

 

I would recommend checking with your VAR, ThinkDox, for assistance on that.  There are MANY details regarding configuration and third party applications that would make troubleshooting this issue from a distance very difficult.

Hopefully ThinkDox is able to help here, but if you need more assistance, I'd suggest creating your own post here on Laserfiche Answers thoroughly explaining the entire system configuration, the printer type, the third party applications used, and the specific changes that occured when upgrading to Laserfiche 9.2.
