Problem installing Import Agent 9.0 over Import Agent 8.1

Following the installation instructions to install over the 8.1 version I hit a road block attempting to activate.  Seems to be an issue with the Activation Key or the License database.  Would appreciate any assistance.  Thank you

Hi Deb,

 

Do you know if you've updated your license manager license recently? As Import Agent 9.0 was released pretty recently, it might not know that you are licensed for it. I'd suggest trying that and see if this addresses the issue.

 

The 'Updating a master license' section of the Rio Deployment Guide has more information on the process.

I have had the same issue with Laserfiche Avante 9.1.1

I have ungraded to the latest LF version and I was trying to upgrade Import Agent also. Customer already has Import agent 8.1.

The installer is asking me for a valid license. However, I cannot make the license work for this new version. 

I have tried with the Activation Tool with no success. 

Any suggestions on where to activate this license? Is there any other License manager in Avante that i am not aware of?

Are you using an activation key or a license file you downloaded from the support site. Import Agent 8.1.1 was unique in that it used both (since IA 8.1 didn't support direct activation), but IA 9 only supports using an activation key. If you are trying to use a lf.lic/licx license file downloaded from the support site, that's not going to work.

 

If you are using an activation key, be aware that Import Agent is a per-seat license - that is, you are only able to activate the number of seats you are licensed for. If the customer already has other installations of IA 8.1 installed and activated, they may simply not have any keys left for IA 9.0. If that shouldn't be the case, you'll want to contact Laserfiche Support so they can look into the key allocations.
