Question

Windows Authentication Snapshot disabled

asked on January 13, 2014

We've recently upgraded from Laserfiche 8.2.1 to version 9, and we're having trouble with the Snapshot configuration tool. We've tried various configurations, but we understand the shared printer option should not be included (so did not include that in the installation).

Althought the actual Snapshot printer is working, the settings made in the Snapshot configuration tool are not coming through to the actual print jobs. Also, the Windows authentication option is not enabled in the Snapshot configuration tool.

We're using Xenapp servers porting Snapshot (and the other LF clients) to the Windows 7 virtual desktop via Citrix. It's possible that rights between the servers / users' virtual desktops is the issue (not sure what needs writing to - an ini file somewhere, or windows registry? We've got it working on fixed desktop computers but can't get it working in the virtual desktops. I've attache screenshots. We've read a lot of the Snapshot and LF Rio guidance notes, but can't find anything specific other than not to use the shared printer (which we have abided by).

Can you make any suggestions on how to get this working?

Thanks,

John

There are two configuration programs: one is for the local Snapshot printer and one is for the shared Snapshot printer. The configuration for the two printers are stored separately, so changes to one don't affect the other. You are running the shared printer configuration progran when you should instead run the local printer configuration program.

  1. Our client virtualized their old Server and moved to a new Server.
  2. They imaged the old server and moved to the new server.
  3. After this migration of the server and therefore Laserfiche, Laserfiche continued to retrieve the documents but scanning (via Snapshot) stopped.
  4. The client had an employee who would help with Laserfiche troubleshooting but he moved out of state and they kept after him to fix it but he hasn't.
  5. The new server that the client migrated to is a physical server running MS hyperV - Laserfiche is running virtualized on the host.
  6. Has anyone seen this happen before? Are there any setting to check for that might be easily reset to resolve the issue?
  7. Thank you.
