Feature Request: Allow Participant license users to release tasks from team members

asked on October 2

Hi,

Can participant license users be allowed to release assigned team tasks like full license users when they're assigned team manager role or any role?

Here's one of our cases:
We use one form for the whole month that gets automated at the beginning of each month. We have a check step and a review step. At either step, we may have staff assign the task and then leave without actually completing the step. We have about 800+ staff and we really cannot justify issuing a full license for all our staff.

If this has zero chance, please also let me know.

Hi Jasciel, there was a new feature rolled out last week where there is an option in the user task that if selected, allows the user to reassign task. Also the new Team Manager updates means that Team Managers can now reassign any task assigned to the team.

Hey Steve, My name is not Jessica haha. Thanks, but in our case the user task is assigned to a Team and sometimes A team based on variables. I saw the new feature, but it requires you to have a full user license. I saw that the requirement for process automation was removed, which gave the impression a full license was needed. I tested it the day it was released. A while back on the app, it worked with participant license users and it got removed. I've asked this before but never got an answer. So, I created a new post to see if I could get insight. I am the only person at our company that builds anything Laserfiche. We're currently converting a huge department's forms and there's not a great way to separate the regions within that department. As far as I know, Laserfiche Groups almost serve no purpose other than for permission on starting forms or the repository. Then you have to create a Laserfiche Team that's identical and put users one by one. This one big department we are digitalizing has about 20+ regions. So I would have to break that department into 20 groups and then 20 teams. Then, I would have to go into the teams and add users one by one. Since AD/Federated groups can't go into Teams, it would be all manual. So, instead, I created one big Laserfiche group for that department and used PowerShell to pull all the employees from our AD. I then had to put all our users in one Team. I'm talking about 150+ users; you have to type the username one by one. The only way for them to distinguish what is what will be by how I have the task and instance worded: Region - Date. It's not pretty. I can already see someone from a different division assigning the form to themselves by accident and forgetting. The other thing is it's just not one form. I'm talking about 10+ forms per region. So, like 200 forms sitting in the unassigned tasks for that team. We've been okay so far because all the other departments I've digitalized have 40>employees and their employees tend to stay. But still, I've had to manually update the Teams one by one when staff separate. So, this is a loaded response, but I hope it explains why I'm asking for this feature request. Regarding provisioning and Federated groups to Teams, this post exists and it looks like Laserfiche is working on it.
