CSS Issue in Forms (works in layout, but not in Preview nor Play)

asked on April 26, 2023

V 11

I am working with the Forms layout designer (not classic version).  I have a table for which I need custom column widths.  I have used CSS to achieve this.  When I add the code to the column, I see the width change to what I'd expect in the layout, however, after I save the change and preview or run the process, the column width defaults back to no formatting.  See screenshots below for the width I see in layout mode vs preview mode. Note the wider width for Date and smaller width for Miles in image #1 vs image #2.

Are you having the same issue described here or here?

Yes.  The solution offered by another user is not working for me, but the issue is very similar in nature.  I understand that it is a bug that will be addressed in the next update.

Which version specifically are you on?

Because the issue I reported in the other two posts was not inside a table, and when I tried to replicate your table just now, it didn't give me the same issue.

I'm on Version 11.0.2212.30907

Other ideas you could try as a work-around, similar to the one I commented on the other two posts:

  • Shrink all the fields to the right, instead of the left, leaving the first field as the largest.
  • Save multiple times without making other changes.
  • Delete the table and re-add it from variables.
  • Throw your laptop against the wall.
    • Just kidding on that one, don't do that.

It could be related to this bug that involves tables.

Just a suggestion as a work around, have you tried using bootstrap codes for the layout?  https://getbootstrap.com/docs/3.3/css/#grid Add the codes to the CSS field on the Advanced tab for the individual fields.
