Display Email Attachments in LF Cloud Email Preview

asked on February 23, 2023

Hi All,

We have a few clients storing a large volume of emails in Laserfiche Cloud. It's great that cloud/the web client has an email preview to allow users to read them in the browser - however this preview doesn't show whether the email has any attachments.

I know there are options around storing attachments separately to the email, but most of our clients have no use for this and simply keep the attachments embedded within the email file. When they then open an email like this they then cannot tell whether that email has any files attached - either in the preview of the email or in the metadata.

The below email has a PDF file attached, which can be viewed when the email is downloaded and opened in Outlook but not through the browser.

Ideally it would be great if the attachment could be clicked and opened in a new tab in the browser, but even just displaying the names of the attachments would be a great help as currently users have to download the file just to check whether or not it has an attachment.

I think my question is pretty similar to these posts about on premise, and agree that being able to this from search results would also be a huge help for many of our clients.

Is this something that may be introduced to Laserfiche Cloud (and on premise Web Client)? Or is there some technical reason this isn't possible?

Thanks in advance!

Dan
