Question

Laserfiche Directory Server - You do not have enough rights to perform this operation. (LMO18)

asked on November 1, 2019 Show version history

I'm having issues connecting Laserfiche directory server to the SQL Server Instance.

I get the following error:

"You do not have enough rights to perform this operation. (LMO18)"

I have made sure that the service account used to login to LFDS can connect to the SQL Server instance and has sysadmin role, as well as dbo on master. I have also tested creating databases under that user successfully.

Please could someone help troubleshoot this error.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sergio,

A few questions:

  1. I see your server name starts with "az". Are you trying to connect to an Azure SQL Database?
  2. Can you check the LFDS event logs to see if there's a more useful/descriptive error message there?
  3. Can you check that the AD account you're logged in as is in the Laserfiche Directory Service Administrators group? If it's not, add it (at least temporarily), restart the LFDS service, and try again.

Thanks for your help.

I have finally ended up adding the service account I wanted to use to the Laserfiche Directory Service Admin Group as was suggested. I can now access LFDS with this account and all seems to be working.

Many thanks,

Sergio.

Hi Chase,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I have tried SQL Server authentication and was having the same issue. In the end I switched to another AD account and it finally worked, which makes me think that indeed there was something wrong with the logins I was created on the SQL Server side.

Thanks for your help,

Regards.

Hi Sergio,

Have you tried using the "SQL Server authentication" option to manually enter credentials?
