Migrating Laserfiche Users from Windows 7 to Windows 10 - What Licensing Issues Are We Facing?

asked on July 22, 2019

My IT group is about to move the company from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  I have been asked to find out what licensing concerns need to be addressed to ensure the switch doesn't adversely impact Laserfiche users.  We operate in a Virtual Machine environment using WYSE units and are on Laserfiche 10.3.   I have 82 perpetual full client user licenses using Windows Authentication, 9 ScanConnect and 5 Quickfields (10.1) user licenses.  I believe that as long as our users move to Windows 10 and there is no need to roll back we will be fine with the full client user licensing.  It is the ScanConnect and Quickfields licensing I have some concerns with.

I could use some advice on how to ensure this transition goes smoothly.

User licensing isn't related to the client OS at all, so that should be fine.  Product license files are tied to the "hardware fingerprint" of the machine, so those should also not be affected by OS updates/upgrades.
