Question

Question

Why can't you import folders into Web Access? Or drag/drop emails straight from Outlook?

asked on December 22, 2017

It seems like a major omission that you can't import folders via Web Access, since you can do it through the desktop client.

This is one of those things (along with the inability to drag/drop emails straight from Outlook) that is making it difficult for us to convince people to switch from the desktop client to Web Access.

It would be great if Laserfiche can comment on this. Are there any plans to get either of these things working? If not, why not? (I know about the Outlook integration - users just don't find it nearly as easy to use as simple drag/drop.)

Thanks Brian, it's great to hear that email drag and drop works now. smiley

Might I make a recommendation about folder drag and drop? Currently when you try to do it, you get an error:

"Folders cannot be imported to Laserfiche. Please try again, selecting the documents you want to import instead."

IMO this should specify that folders cannot be imported through Web Access. Otherwise it's a bit misleading, especially for people who aren't aware that there is a native client.

@Ege, is there a way to convert folders on the desktop to a Laserfiche Briefcase  format and import into Laserfiche Cloud? I currently have a client who wants to import some folders on her desktop into their LF Cloud repository and they ve not been able to do so.
