Web Access 10 - Can you Import a Folder?

asked on February 23, 2016

In Web Access 10 is there a way to import folders via drag and drop or is that only supported by the client? I suppose we can use Import Agent but it would be nice to be able to drag and drop folders into Web Access.

This is currently not possible due to web browser security, but we will look into adding support through it using the WA browser plugin.

Hello, has this problem been taken care of with the latest version?

No, it's not possible in the latest version.  The browser security model makes this a difficult problem to solve, there's not an easy way to capture the information about what the user is dragging.

This appears to be a global restriction by the browser manufactures. Even Dropbox does not have this capability. A website is like a program within a program, the developer of the browser has the ultimate control.

Hello, just wanted to flag this again as a useful feature. I know that both Google Drive and OneDrive have the ability import folders in their web clients.

Bumping this thread again as this feature is being requested by many clients. I just tested this with dropbox and yes you can drag and drop a folder, and it will import the folder, files, subfolders, and maintain folder structure.
