Quick Fields 10 - Licensing

asked on June 15, 2016 Show version history

I saw that Quick Fields 10 came out last week and I've been waiting for an official announcement but I haven't seen one yet.

I wanted to ask if more than one person can use the scanning app at the same time, and any restrictions on it.

If the answer is yes, I also wanted to know if there was any difference in pricing to add on multiple users, or if the entire cost of another Quick Fields license needs to be paid. (i.e. is there a multi-user add on license for qf server?)

As far as use cases go, I'm specifically thinking of a scenario where one person handles the scanning but multiple people go in and verify and correct documents.

Hi Chris,

The official announcement will be present next week and will include licensing information. We traditionally deploy it early for people waiting on support cases and the like.

A question based off of the PDF that was published. Can Quick Fields scanning be installed on as many workstations as wanted, or is it licensed per workstation like Quick Fields? The chart of page 5 was a little unclear on that.

It's per workstation.

I went back and found the preview of Quick Fields 10 from back in December. I did not get a chance to attend the Quick Fields 10 presentation at the conference, but I thought I remembered seeing this in the what's coming presentation...

Did they drop the Laserfiche Quick Fields Document Revision component as outlined in this video? Is this feature still planned for release later this year, maybe as part of Quick Fields 11?

I have several customers who viewed this video and are highly interested in it, and were hoping to incorporate it after QF 10 was released in their business processes. They were really interested in the options for multiple people to be able to review them via their own workstations via the web.

I suspect this is what Blake Smith was asking too...

So to make sure I'm understanding this correctly, Quick Fields Scanning can either be installed on the same machine as Quick Fields or not at all since they share the same license?

Chris, Document Revision was not ready for primetime. It's still being worked on and will be released later.

Blake, that's correct.

Thank your Miruna. I'm guessing that's part of the reason why it was delayed later than expected.

Here's hoping it makes it in soon, I have at least 2-3 customers who are very interested in the round robin reviewing portion of it.
