Question

Question

verifying DLLs libraries needed for LF9.

asked on June 15, 2016

I have a client who's doing a server clean up and needs to remove some of the DLLs used in LF8.  From the given list attached, is it safe to delete these DLLs without impacting the current version of LF9?  Thanks.

You couldn't just delete them. You'd have to uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Runtime that installed them or Windows would try to repair the installation to put them back.

Be aware that other (non-Laserfiche) applications may use them too. They're shared files, so if they already installed, other applications that have them as dependencies wouldn't reinstall them just use them. So your report might be incomplete.

Laserfiche 9.2.1 is not using them.

Miruna,

Are any of the DLLs that were listed installed by the Laserfiche installer package for version 9.2.1 and 10.1?

No. The easiest way to check is to look in the support folder for the Laserfiche product install you're concerned with and compare the version of VCredist_x86/64.exe with the VC++ Runtime released versions.
