Question

Participant Licenses

asked on April 13, 2016 Show version history

On 12/2015 we purchased 85 participant licenses for our customer's RIO with Forms portal implementation.  Since that time; 2/19/2016 to be exact I updated the master license.  When I try to create participant licenses it indicates that I don't have any participant licenses.  What step did I miss?

Thanks,
Sandy

When I try to assign the license to a participant.

It looks like the license file may have not been updated correctly. We had that problem and had our VAR open a support case with Laserfiche and they corrected the issue.

I'll give that a try. Thanks

There are 2 possible ways to assign participant licenses: through LFDS and through Forms.

In the first case, you add the user to LFDS and give it a license. This is the newer option and applies to the single-sign on situation where Forms uses LFDS for authentication. This is unlikely to be your setup if this is a Forms upgrade from an earlier version.

The ore common case is when Forms manages the participant licenses. In that case, the number of participant licenses is specified in the Forms product license. In the Rio/LFDS setup, after updating the master license to add more participants, you also need to edit the Forms instance's registration to allocate the participants.

Save it, then download the license, replace it on the Forms server and restart the Laserfiche Forms Routing Service.

Thanks Miruna that sounds like the step I missed.  I'm still using License manager for this customer - where can I find this?  I checked the properties - I couldn't change the number where it says Authenticated Submitters - is there another place?  Should that say 0?  Thanks for your help!

You can't change the authenticated submitter number after the application is registered, you can delete the original one and register a new one: you can specify the number of authenticated submitter when register application instance:

For some reason I don't have box for "Authenticated submitters"  even though the main summary page shows that I have 10 of those licenses.

I'm running License Manager 8.3.1.404
