Question

workflow password forceably reset?

asked on April 5, 2016 Show version history

We got this message after attaching an existing repository to workflow server that had been upgraded from 9.2 to 10. Do we need to update the password in Admin console? Why would it force a pwd reset?

WFUser$ is not available in the LF Admin Console. None of the system users are. Workflow sets the password when you set it up to monitor a repository.

The WFUser$ account starts out as disabled in a new repository and is enabled by Workflow. The message is there to indicate that this is not the first time Workflowis being configured for the repository, which may be an indication that another Workflow Server is also monitoring this repository. If that is the case, then the repository should be set up using the "Attach" option so the password can be shared. If there are no other Workflow servers monitoring this repository, then the warning can be ignored.

This is the password for the WFUSER$ service account.  No need to reset it as it the built in account (like FTUSER$).  I get this occasionally but not always when doing what you are doing.  Click yes and Laserfiche should take care of everything needed.

I am new to the product having last administered it back in 2001. I know this was a lifetime ago.

I had this same issue but had no existing repository that was being monitored.

Why did I get this warning?

Your screenshot shows an 'Access Denied" error while trying to log into the repository as a domain account to configure the monitored repository. This is usually an indication that the user does not gave the Manage Trustees privilege. Either grant the Windows user you're logged in as this privilege, or select the "Laserfiche authentication" option and log in as a user with the Manage Trustees privilege.
