Question

Laserfiche License Manager

asked on March 17, 2016

Hello- We currently have 12 full licensed Group accounts. Since I needed to create another group account, I increased the Full repository users number to 13 (see the image below), but I get the error message stating that 'No license is allocated for this user'. I had made one full license available by switching one Windows user account to Restricted in License Manager so there is one full license available in License Manager to be picked up.

Is this the right place where I specify the number of full licenses available to Group User accounts? If so, why is it not picking up the available license and allocate it to the account I just created? Thanks.

Hi Aya,

Are you actually looking to use repository users (that is, users that are defined solely on one individual repository on one individual Laserfiche server, defined in that Servers administration console)? 'Group accounts' isn't a term we use, so I want to ensure that's what you are looking to do here.

Added: If that is what you are looking to do, this post discusses ensuring that notifications are set up from the license manager to your Laserfiche Server: http://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/90609/How-often-does-laserfiche-check-with-LFDS. By default the Server polls the License manager every 12 hours although that's being decreased to 2 in a future update.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for the clarification, we only have one repository used across departments and was not aware that is how the term "Repository User" is defined.

I am referring to an account that you assign a generic name to, attach several domain accounts, so several Windows users ( in our case we group them by department) can use the same login (since we can share one full license amongst multiple users) to access Laserfiche.
