Question

How often does laserfiche check with LFDS?

asked on January 27, 2016 Show version history

I have a RIO 9.2 environment using AD Groups and rules.  Users show up in LDFS when I synchronize.  However, the users are not able to access the repository for about a half day.  how can I speed up the polling?

If notifications are correctly configured, you should not need to wait for the refresh; LFDS will send updates on users to LFS immediately after the user is added or edited.

Note that there was a bug in the initial 9.2.0 release  of LFDS where the notifications were disabled by default, but you can enable them in LFDS without needing to re-issue the LFS license.

  1. Set the Notification port in LFDS under the Advanced Options for the application instance:   Applications -> Laserfiche Server -> [your server] -> Edit -> Advanced Options
  2. Make sure the LFS machine can receive inbound requests for UDP port 5055 (or whatever port you chose). You may need to create a new firewall rule.
  3. Make sure LFDS can send UDP to that port (some firewall rules can block this)

The Laserfiche Rio Named User refresh interval is every 12 hours. In the next update, it will be changed to every 2 hours.
