Upgrading from SQL Express License to SQL Enterprise

we started Laserfiche as a pilot program with 5 named user license on Avante Express, however we have grown in size and have since increased our licences to 40. The cost of upgrading to Laserfiche SQL Enterprise is quite high for us especially given that we have a license for SQL Enterprise purchased from Microsoft. Is it necessary to pay Laserfiche for the upgrade or is there a way i can use my own SQL enterprise license on Laserfiche

Your organization is licensed for Avante with SQL Express. To take advantage of full SQL, you have to upgrade the Laserfiche license as well. So to answer your question, yes you will have to pay for the upgrade because your existing license will only work with SQL Express.
