Phantom PDF and Snapshot

asked on January 27, 2016 Show version history

I have a coworker who uses Phantom PDF instead of Adobe because Adobe is really slow for her.

The issue is that, when she opens up the PDF in PhantomPDF to uncheck a checkbox, and check a different box, once she snapshots the PDF into LF, one of the square checkboxes turns into a circle. (See attached pictures, Top is Original opened  in Phantom, Bottom is after Snapshot) I've tested it on multiple computers and it does the same thing with Phantom. Adobe has no issues whatsover.

Is this a PhantomPDF/Lasefiche compatibility issue? I'm pretty sure she's been using Phantom for awhile now, and recently brought up this issue yesterday. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

If you just print from Phantom PDF to an actual printer, does it have the same behavior? That's really all Snapshot is, as far as the source application is concerned.

I just tried this, it comes out as a circle on paper as well when printing from PhantomPDF.

Sounds like it's an issue with PhantomPDF then, if it's happening on physical printing. You could also try manually importing the file into the desktop Client or Web Access and using native PDF page generation to see if that behaves differently, but it appears that PhantomPDF is the one sending the circle informaiton to the printer.

Thank you Justin, I appreciate the response on ruling out Snapshot with this issue.
