Question

Import PDF garbles/streaks text

asked on January 20, 2016

A document was scanned and saved as a PDF with a copier.  The PDF opened and looked ok both with version XI Pro and DC Pro of Acrobat.  When you drag and drop into Laserfiche version  9.2.1.635 (with new document settings set for importing PDFs to Generate Laserfiche pages, Preserve PDF annotations, and Import monochrome images checked and the Keep original PDFs unchecked,   The text is garbled - looks like it is streaked.  This was tried with different versions of Acrobat and different computers with the same results. This has only happened since going to version 9.2.1.  If you use Snapshot it comes out perfect.

Attached are a PDF version and a TIF version showing the garbling/streaking.

(Note this is only one page of a multiple page document for an example, but it affected all pages)

Any ideas?

This is fixed in the 10 client, it is a bug in the 3rd party component that generates the tif images (SCR 123740).

Please open a case with your VAR and provide them with a copy of the PDF before it is imported into LF so we can test here.
