Question

The webpage has a redirect loop

asked on January 19, 2016

Upgraded Web Admin console to version 10 and when navigating to it it states that this webpage has a redirect loop. The other web components of Laserfiche 10 works without any problems.

Tried restarting the server, running a repair, and looking to see if anything seemed out of the ordinary in IIS, but nothing jumps out or fixes the problem.

Any ideas?

On the server where Web Admin is installed, go into the Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates and uninstall Laserfiche Web Administration Console 10.0 update 1. Next, open a web browser and visit the Web Administration site, confirming that it's accessible. Finally, reapply update 1 by installing it from KB 1013726. It's important to visit the Web Admin site in a web browser after uninstalling update 1 and before reinstalling it.

Are there plans on getting it so that when updating that the update will not need to be uninstalled and then reinstalled?

This bug is targeted to be fixed in the next update.

After uninstalling, I click on the setup program and it states that the Laserfiche Web Administration Console 10.0.2.886 is still detected, but it is not present in the Programs and Features.

Can you confirm that you just uninstalled update 1 and not the entire Web Administration Console 10 product? Make sure to browse to the Web Admin site after doing so. Then, upon reinstalling, confirm that you're just reinstalling update 1 from the previously linked KB article.

Looks like I misunderstood and did uninstall the entire Web Administration Console 10 product. Tried to reinstall, but it is not reinstalling. Ideas?

Run the tool from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall and see if you can uninstall Laserfiche Web Administration Console 10 from there. Once the product is completely uninstalled, then reinstall using the setup files that you have.

At this point, you should be back to having Web Admin 10 Update 1 installed and the issue occurring. Then follow the steps in the initial reply where you only uninstall Update 1, visit the Web Admin Console site in a web browser, and then reinstall Update 1.
