Question

Prevent User From Viewing Test Repositories in Available Repository List

asked on January 18, 2016

I have a 9.1 Laserfiche Rio Server environment with 4 repositories. I would like to use the same repository names in my Testing Server (Laserfiche Rio 9.2) which will eventually become my production environment. Is there any way for my repositories in the test environment NOT to populate in the available repositories list in my production environment?

I am looking forward a smoother transition with minimal changes at workflow level, specially in the Connection Profiles.

Your input will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Porfirio!

I was just about to email you the instructions as per our talk at the conference last week. See KB 1013480 on how to set it up. See the part that says:

"You can now configure the registry to stop the Laserfiche Server from automatically attempting to republish a service connection point in order to prevent client programs from being able to automatically detect the existence of the Laserfiche Server instance. Using the Windows Registry Editor, browse to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laserfiche\Engine\8.0 key. Modify the value of SCPBindingPath by deleting the LDAP:// protocol prefix. (114274)

Hi Miruna,

Thanks for you prompt response. Should that registry change be made in the server that manages the repositories that you do not want visible or in the production server?

The one you don't want to advertize itself on your network. So not the production one.

Good Morning Miruna,

I have performed tests and it is still showing the Test repositories to my production users. I would appreciate if you can send me a email for me to follow up.

Thanks,

Porfirio

I'm sorry, I can't do direct troubleshooting outside of this site. You can contact your reseller and open a case with Tech Support so they can double-check things for you.

I understand.

Is there any other step I am missing besides the change in the registry? Has anyone experience this issue, before?

Thanks,

Porfirio
