Laserfiche Web Access configuration stuck on verifying repository

asked on December 31, 2015

I am doing an install of LaserFiche Avante 10, and have my Server, Repository and Client up and running. Web access though, has been stuck verifying the repository for the last 12 or so hours. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Web Access, and  IIS, and rebooted the server but when I pull up Web Access configuration it is still trying to verify. I am using Windows authentication for the server and have a password on the repository database.  Any help would be much appreciated!

Please try reinstalling Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 on the web server.

Hi Alexander, just to advise that we've run into the same issue with Web Access 10.1 Update 1, Repository Access 10.1.0.215 after changing the server name to a DNS name to enable external Web Access connectivity via HTTPS.  Logging onto the server as a different user and opening Web Access Configuration encounters the ongoing "Verifying" issue after the administrator tried to change the server name in the Connection page to the new DNS name yesterday afternoon - which is when the "verifying" issue started.  We're troubleshooting at the moment.

Do you know if they had checked the "SSL (LFS)" box when configuring the repository connection on the Web Access Configuration Page? Please note that this option is asking if you want Web Access itself to use SSL when it connects to the Laserfiche Server so if they did check that option, but the Laserfiche Server isn't using SSL, then this would also cause the issue where it's stuck "verifying" the repository connection.

If that's something that could have happened, then go into C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Web Access\Web Files\Config and edit the WebAccessConfig.xml file in a text or xml editor.

In the Repository tag, look for the "UseSSL" attribute and set it to False instead of True. Save the change and then close and reopen the web browser and see if you can get back into the Web Access Configuration Page and use it again.

Yes, it looks as though checking the SSL box is what caused the issue. However in trying to reinstall .NET 4.5 I've broken the server. So I need to get that sorted first then will have a look at the xml file.

Was this a new installation of Web Access 10 or an upgrade from a previous version? Are there any errors reported in the Windows Event Viewer? It might be best to open a support case as well so further troubleshooting can be done.

Hi Stephen,

If you do open a support case, be sure to include a wireshark trace taken from the machine in which WA is installed. This will give us a detailed view of the communication between Web Access and LFS while it's verifying the repisotory.
