Laserfiche Snapshot - Crashes when attempting to open Preferences & prints zoomed in page

asked on December 4, 2015 Show version history

We have a Client that migrated to an OS33 environment. They are encountering a couple of issues with Snapshot.

  1. When they attempt to print documents directly from one of the Web pages they retrieve the documents from, the out is zoomed in and not all the document is printed correctly.
  2. In the process of printing the document to Laserfiche, if they want to change the Snapshot Printer preferences to perhaps print the document as an image or see whether the settings are set to zoom, the dialog crashes.

Also, they have attempted to use the Snapshot Shared Printer but the performance for that is very slow.

Any pointers on these issues especially 1 & 2 will be appreciated.

I hoping that there is registry entry for Snapshot that we may possibly apply to resolve this issue. This is in Laserfiche 9.2.1 environment.

In order to reproduce your issue, we will need some more detail. Could you explain what you mean when you say your Client attempts to print documents directly from one of the Web pages? Do they open a PDF within the web browser and print directly? Are they downloading image files from the web page and then printing to Laserfiche?

If the Client navigates to for example google.com, then does CTRL + P which launches the Print Dialog. Then they select the LF Snapshot printer and click on print, the output is a zoomed half page of the google.com page.

This might be related to the webpage layout itself. Snapshot is prints out whatever the Print Preview looks like. Please try the "Restore Defaults" button in the Snapshot Printing Preference dialog. If that does not work, the Snapshot output is different than the preview and you should contact Support for further assistance.
