Our clients wish to use TIFF as a preview of electronic document. By example the firts 3 pages so the user is sure is the rigth documents to download.
Can this be done?
Another option might be to run the documents through a workflow that deletes all but the first three pages of the imaged document. Here is a screen shot;
In this example the Delete Pages activity is configured to delete pages 4 through 999 (or though the last page of the document if less than 999 pages exist). The Delete Pages workflow activity is available on Products page of the www.qfiche.com website. So to clarify, your edoc currently has at least three pages when you open it with its native application. Is that correct?
If so, you want Snapshot to combine the three pages into one page using Snapshot. Is that correct?
I am sorry I think I need to explain more. My client want that snapshot use the first 3 pages of any document to make the TIFF... If a edoc has 100 pages he wants only 3 TIIF.. not 100. I want to know if this can be done by default.
The user needs to print to the Snapshot printer and to direct the program to only print the first three pages. The Generate Pages command in the LF client does not allow the user to control this, so they will have to open the program and print from there.
The user would need to specify in the native application's print dialog that they only want the first three pages to be printed.
Another option is to Snapshot the entire document and then have Quick Fields reprocess the documents to keep only the first three pages in each. Note that this may not be a good trade-off though and it might be better to have users just remember to only print the first three pages.
Thanks to all I will explore all the answers. We got workflow but I not very use to it and I will need to read more about quick fields, looks promising!!!
