Question

Question

'doctype' is an upexpected token. The expected token is 'DOCTYPE'. Line 3, Position 3.

asked on November 4, 2015

I'm getting this error in Workflow when I attempt to setup a Web Service (via the WF Admin Console).  I create a new Web Service, Type = Laserfiche Forms, URL = "http://[IPADDRESS]/forms".  I click Test URL, and I receiving the error stating "'doctype' is an upexpected token.  The expected token is 'DOCTYPE'.  Line 3,  Position 3."

If I copy and paste that URL into the address bar of my web browser, it does go to the Forms page, so I know the URL is correct.  I've tried using both the "Default Authentication" checkbox, and also specifying a user account who is an Admin user on the Forms server.  I'm not sure what I'm missing.

I see that every time I click the "Test URL" button, an error stating "Access is denied" appears in the Event Viewer on the Forms server.  It doesn't provide much additional info, however, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.  I did ensure that the Workflow server was configured in the Forms Config page.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Do you have more than one Forms server?

Yes we do.

Forms can only talk to the WF server that is configured in the Forms configuration page. Make sure that the Forms server you are trying to configure WF with has that reference in the Forms config on the Forms server side.

Yes, I did log into the Forms server that I'm trying to connect to, opened the Forms Config page, and verified that the IP address of the Workflow server was entered in the "Laserfiche Workflow Server" section of the 'Repository' tab.

On the WF side, make sure you are referencing the same one.

The same Forms server?  Yes I am referencing the correct one.  The second Forms server is on a totally different domain, so I'm definitely not referencing that one.

You noted that you are using the IP address of the WF server.  Can you use the name instead?  You also noted that you are using http://[IPADDRESS]/forms from the WF side.  What happens if you use the name?

Yes, I've tried using the IP address, the server name, and the FQDN.
