I was wondering if anyone else has this issue and how to fix it if so. Occasionally, when we close out of Quick Fields, it does not close out of task manager and it prevents the next user from logging into and using Quick Fields. Is there a way to fix this? Each time, I have to go into task manager and manually end the QF task. Thanks for your input.

Are you getting the same behavior as discussed on this thread?

It was resolved by giving the user rights to the C:\ProgramData\Laserfiche\Quick Fields\SessionVariables folder if as making them a local admin is not an option.
No, it is not the same issue as that. Quick Fields closes but it still shows as an active task in Task Manager so the next person logging in cannot because the "number of users has been exceeded."
Are you running QF from a standalone machine or Citrix or a VM?
Our laserfiche server is a VM, QF is running on that. People log into with RD and then run their QF, close it out and then exit out of RD. But when QF closes, sometimes it hangs in the task manager.
You noted that you have people login with remote desktop then close out of QF and exit out of remote desktop. When they end their session, do they close QF then logout of remote desktop or do they just hit the x in the RDP session to close out of it?
If they do not close QF properly and close the remote destop by simply hitting the x to end the rdp session, then QF would not be terminating or closing the session. It will remain running for the original session and you would have to end the QF task.
Also, you would get the "maximum number of users" or sessions message when two or more users are trying to run QF at the same time which would not be allowed.
They are closing out of QF and then closing out of RD. These people typically run QF at different times during the day (designed that way for this reason). Our problem arises when QF is closed but does not end the task itself.
Can you confirm the user that the process is running as? It's odd because when you log off of a Windows session, all processes that were running as that user should be getting terminated by Windows during this logoff process.
Regardless, if you need further assistance troubleshooting the matter, please contact your Laserfiche reseller to open a support case.
