Question

LF RIO Directory Server

asked on October 5, 2015

I am about to rollout a RIO installation.  I just want to know if the Directory Server should be separate to the Laserfiche Server? IF the Directory Server dies for some reason, will Laserfiche server instances become unlicensed?

You can put them separately.  With Rio, you can have more than one LF server.

There is a grace period in a Rio environment for when the Laserfiche Server isn't able to communicate with the Directory Server. That grace period is seven days. After that, the Laserfiche Server will stop running and if restarted, will only stay running for an hour before it stops again. Once communication with the License Directory Server is re-established, then it will resume normal functionality.
