Hi all - after some assistance regarding Directory Server - our client is implementing Rio with 2 x instances (Test & Prod). Each instance will be linked to individual AD controllers ( this is how they segregate environments - 1 domain for test resources & users - 1 domain for Production). I understand Directory server supports multiple domain controllers, but as they currently have individual user accounts for each domain (e.g Fred_UAT & Fred_Prod) which will have unique SID's, I believe this will be an issue from a licensing perspective, that would force the client to buy 2 named user licences? Please can this be confirmed, and I'd welcome some suggestions if there is a solution to this, other than instructing the client to fix up their AD configuration. Thanks everyone.

As these are two completely separate accounts, you are correct, they cannot share a license. Laserfiche licensing has no way of knowing whether Fred_UAT and Fred_PROD are actually the same person.
My question is this: what is the goal of everyone in the test environment having named user licenses? I would think that the vast majority of users only ever care about production.

Hi Brianna - Thanks for your reply. Your correct the entire user community would not need replicated in the test environment, just a small subset of users to support release activities. However, the client will still need to procure additional named user licences to support the test environment outside of their expectations
