Question

Speeding up access to Laserfiche

asked on September 21, 2015

Hi,

We are currently running version 9 of Laserfiche in our environment. We control access to Laserfiche through AD groups. Currently, it takes upto 24 hours for a newly added user to log into Laserfiche.

I have tried speeding up things by going to the Laserfiche Directory server (V9.2.0.567) and going to Settings->Synchronize. This will allocate the license immediately for the new user, however it still takes upto 24 hours before the user is able to log into Laserfiche successfully.

Is there a way to quicken this?

Thanks,

Anoop

Please update Laserfiche Directory Server to 9.2.1. There is a known issue in 9.2.0 where when a new user was added the notification was not pushed out to the Laserfiche Server.

In addition to making sure you are on the latest version of Directory Server, you could also check to make sure notifications are enabled for your Laserfiche Server application instance.

To do so, edit your existing Laserfiche Server application instance, and expand the "Advanced options". The notifications checkbox should be checked and port 5055 should be specified.

Hi Anoop,

This is because the user isn't automatically synchronized with the LF server. The quickest way to achieve user addition is to re-start the Laserfiche server services on the server which needs the license.

Hope this helps!

Hi Chris,

Yes, restarting the service does quicken it. However, it doesn't help us as LF is used by our business 24X7. So, it makes it hard to restart the services.  Thanks.
