Question

Can a user be both a Forms Authenticated Participant and a read only user on the repository, with appropriate licensing?

asked on August 12, 2015 Show version history

I just want to make sure that a a licensing configuration we're looking at will work. Can the same AD account be both a Forms Authenticated Participant for submitting and participating in Forms, *as well as* a Windows Account 'read only' user that can log in to Weblink?

Even if this works now, will it still work in version 10 with the emphasis on administration being in LFDS?

In LFDS 10, you can configure a User to be both Retrieval user and Forms Participant

Right now I do not believe it would be an issue because since the accounts for WebLink are not named users, Forms has no idea that they exist.

In the future I would imagine that it still would be safe to assume the above as the WebLink user licensing has always been its own special thing without integrating with the other products, but I guess Laserfiche would need to chime in on what they plan to do with licensing in version 10 to be sure.

Abby Shen, to your reply.   Does this mean the user would need to purchase a read only user license and a forms participant license for this to work?   Or could the customer purchase read only licenses and use that as a participant in Forms?

They would have to purchase both types.
