Question

Granular Access Rights

asked on August 3, 2015

Hello All,

I have granular access rights in my folder structure and I have more than 4000 companies based on this granular access right.

Is there a way where I can remove all the access rights without needing to select each folder and remove same.

I have more than 7 levels in the folder structure.

There are already several posts on this topic: this post on the clear entry access utility or this post with an example workflow to change access rights should help. There is also a workflow SDK snippet if you need a script.

You need the LFSO8.2 run-time files installed for the pre-built 82 executable to run.  My guess is that you do not have that on your system.

Hello Bert,

Thanks for the information.

Currently I don't have the LFS08.2 run-time files installed.

I have downloaded the clear access right at this path :https://www.laserfiche.com/solutionexchange/clear-entry-access-rights-from-an-entry/

can you please help me to install same or is there any tutorial where same is explain

thanks

If you have the SDK, then you can just install the 9.x runtime and it should install the 8.2 runtime as well.  If you do not have the SDK, then I will have to defer to someone from Laserfiche or your VAR to provide it for you.

If no one from the Laserfiche team responds to this thread, you should contact your VAR.

Hello Bert,

Just want to know:

Is the SDK free or there an associated fee attached to it?

Also, whether Laserfiche itself develop this SDK or third parties

The SDK itself has a fee associated with it. It's developed by Laserfiche and uses the same libraries that the Laserfiche applications themselves use to communicate with the Laserfiche Server. In this case you wouldn't be using the SDK itself to code anything, it'd just be present in order to provide the necessary libraries this utility is trying to use.

Your VAR may be able to acquire the SDK run-time package (which is just the libraries themselves for redistribution, not the full SDK for developers to program with) from Laserfiche support to help you run this utility.

Hello Justin,

Thanks for these precious information.

I just want to run the utility for removing granular access right.

Thanking you in advance for your help.

Also, just for my knowledge, is there a place or white paper explaining how we can use the SDK to develop new features with LF apart from the forum of SDK.

Thanks

As noted above, please talk with your VAR about opening a support case for this, they should be able to provide you with the necessary libraries. It's not something I can do over Answers. Thanks!
