Question

Laserfiche snapshot is not licensed to connect to this server

asked on July 29, 2015

We upgraded the LF server from 8.0.2 to 9.0.3. We have changed the name of the repository and also configured the setting of Snapshot to use the new repository.

While trying to use LF Snapshot Printer 8 and connecting with the new repository it is giving the following error:

"Laserfiche snapshot is not licensed to connect to this server"

Do we need to change the licensing for Snapshot? or setup a new connection profile for snapshot? Please advise.

Open your Snapshot 8.0 license file (lf.lic) in a text editor and look for the line

FEATURE=CONN:[serial_number]

That serial number needs to match up with the one inside the Laserfiche Server license file (lf.licx). If they don't match, then that would explain the error you are getting. One option is to upgrade the Client/Snapshot to 9.0.3 as well, making this moot. Otherwise, you'd need to look into how your products are licensed and why there may be different serial numbers.

Thanks Alex!

The Snapshot 8.0 serial number was not matching with Laserfiche server license. We matched the serial number and it started working.
