Question

The repository cannot be mounted at the current time because it is being upgraded. Pleas wait until the upgrade completes.

asked on July 20, 2015

I am trying to register a repository. At the last step in the wizard, when I click next, I get this error message "The repository cannot be mounted at the current time because it is being upgraded. Pleas wait until the upgrade completes. [9523]" - screenshot attached.

Does it mean as it says (means the repo will up available after the upgrade is done) or is it an error? Also, if this is doing some kind of upgrade, then how could we check the progress of upgrade?

Hi Uzair,

Something to note for next time wink

From memory the upgrade of the repository DB can be monitored by looking in the repository database in the dboptions table and looking at the Version. This changes as the database is upgraded.

Version 8.6.1 is LF 9.2.1 if that helps. The exact mapping of versions to actual LF versions doesn't seem an exact science but at least it gives you some sort of rough indication as to where the upgrade/update is up to.

Hope this helps! smileyyes

OK smiley

So, despite of the above message, I tried to login to my repository and I can login successfully.

Yes, the message indicates that repository was attached, the server detected it's from an earlier version and started to update it to the SQL schema for the current version. The server writes another message to the event log when the upgrade is complete. For minor version upgrades, it's usually within seconds of starting the upgrade.

Please review the Application event viewer log at the Laserfiche Server box, it should provide more information about the upgrade, in case there is an error it will be reported as well in the log.
