Question

Licence Manager - Quickfield and Import Agent invalid licences

asked on July 8, 2015

Hey,

We just bought new user licences from Laserfiche, as usual, i added the master licence to activate them but seems that after the activation, the Quickfield and Import Agent Licences seems to be both deactivated.

In our organization profile, it says that our licences expire only in 2016.

Temporarily, I uploaded a backup from earlier this year to be sure they both work until i find a solution, but the new users licences are not activated.

Just wondering if anyone already experienced this in the past or if any have clues of where I could reactivate the Import Agent and Quickfield after the activation of the new licences.

Thanks !

After you received your updated master license, you can simply re-register Import Agent and Quick fields in the Directory Server to get them licensed again.

Thanks for the answer but i'm trying to figure out where to acces to the Directory Server.

Is there a way in the Licence Manager to reapply the Licences to the tools after applying the new master licence ?

Are you using the License Manager or the Directory Server? It is one or the other. You cannot have both.

You can do the same in the License Manager. The steps can be found in Page 20-23 of the Laserfiche_Rio_91_Deployment_Guide.pdf which you can download from here.

Yeah we are using the License Manager, sorry I should have mentionned it.

Just want to be sure I'm doing the right thing, this is the first time this kind of thing happens. If I follow the steps about "Register New Application Instance", in page 20-21, is there something I have to be careful about or it's just as simple as that ? Is the new application will replace the older one? Just don't want to screw up somehting by doing this.

You should check first if you have a current application instance of Import Agent and QF already there.  If they are there, you need to remove those first then register the application again.  That should be it.
