Scanning "Configure Device Settings" Window

asked on June 29, 2015 Show version history

This is for a VAR laptop that we use for doing Demo's of Laserfiche.  I often show connector opening scanning for prospects, even without a scanner attached.  Sometimes I want to just change to Universal Capture, or twain.  If I click scanning there is no scanner attached with ScanConnect I get the following page as expected.  Not sure if it happens after using TWAIN.

This time I have a Canon M140 scanner.  The issue with the above window is I can't click on anything to say OK or pick a different device.  The only way to get around this is to end task on the Laserfiche Scanning (32 Bit) process and reopen it.  This helps most of the time, I can then get in and change the scan source

Any thoughts?

Hi Jason,

I wasn't able to reproduce your issue: after loading my Connector profile that launches Laserfiche Scanning, I'm able to fully navigate Scanning, which includes accessing Choose Scan Source from the File menu. Can you provide more information on how you arrive at that Configure Device Settings window, which it sounds like freezes? How are you loading the Connector profile? Does the Configure Device Settings popup appear automatically upon profile load? Is Scanning open before you load the profile?

Thank you for the extra info.

Many others have reported this issue as well.  I posted a workaround in Unable to click buttons in popup and the response was that the issue had been resolved.  I have still had the problem from time to time and so I keep my workaround handy on any PC that I have scanning on.

Thank you, Bert! I'll let the developers know that this is still an issue.

Was this issue resolved?  I am just seeing this popping up in our environment last week.

I just had to use my workaround program within the last two weeks when trying to set up a New PC running Windows 10 and LF 10.3.1 with an older scanner using Kofax VRS.  When Scanning loaded, they saw a popup window reminding them to check and, if necessary, replace the rollers, but the user could not click the OK  button or the close X in the top right corner.  The popup also had a checkbox to not show again.  We used my tool to check the do not show again box and then click the OK button.

Still having this issue.  Only happening to one user account on the PC.  Tested with myself and admin, the option is not frozen.  I am able to select universal scanning with no issues.   Logging in as the user that's affected, it freezes everytime.

Removed / Reinstalled full client and scanning functions of LF, no change.  System still hangs on same screenshot as above.

I have not seen that this is fixed.  I still have to occasionally use my workaround.  You can now get the program from https://netorgft869370-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/g/personal/bwarren_opg-3_com/EVeip60c1u1IkSiYBDSS2XABm--r-RRceusydQPSZHaRyg

Has there been a permanent fix for this? We have a customer who is experiencing this issue on version 10.4. I just opened a support ticket to see if there has been a fix since I have come across quite a few posts explaining this same issue. I will update the post with with any new information from Support.
