What are the best practices for upgrading from 8.2 Laserfiche Classic to 9.2 Rio?

asked on June 12, 2015

It will be an in-place upgrade on a Windows 2003 R2 32bit server.

As Miruna notes, KB 1013137 is specific to the Laserfiche Server. The reference for all products can be found at: https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1012418

You should back up your databases and your current license files just in case if anything goes awry. There shouldn't be any problems while upgrading. If you would like to review compatibility for anything that is on the server or for version support check here:

Thank you for the link. Although the compatibility list says 9.2 is compatible with Windows Server 2003 SP2 Directory Server wasn't installing. It looks like Directory server is not compatible with the server's OS. https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1013624

Compatibility is indicated for the Laserfiche Server. Other components may have different requirements, detailed in the product readme. For version 9.2, Directory Service, Workflow and Forms use .Net 4.5 which makes them not compatible with Windows 2003.

You can continue using License Manager 8.3 and Workflow 9.1.1 with Laserfiche 9.2 if Windows 2003 is a must.
