Question

I want to delete some LF users that have left the company to free licenses. Is this possible?

asked on June 1, 2015

Hello, I was just handed the LF admin console. I'm trying to create a couple of users but error message tells me that we have reached the number of licenses allowed.  Is it possible to "delete" users that have termed our department so I can reuse the license to give to new users?  The people that left are at this time "disabled".  I was wondering if I delete them, will  this in any way affect anything that they may have association with in the LF client?

Hi Susan,

Please review this help page for information about disabling users. You can leave the disabled user accounts in the system, but just uncheck the "Repository Named User" option under their user properties in the Laserfiche Administration Console to free up the named user license. That page also explains why you would want to keep the disabled user accounts in the repository.

Thank you so much for your quick response.  BTW, I have been looking for a short video, white pages to help me get use to admin console.  Any suggestions on that would be helpful.

Outside of the Laserfiche Administration Guide Web Help, I'd recommend searching the "Education" section of the Laserfiche Support Site for "administration" and filter through those results.

There are also some Laserfiche Administration CPP courses that you might be interested in. You can speak with your Laserfiche reseller if you have more questions though.
