Question

Laserfiche tab does not show up on outlook

asked on April 8, 2015

Hello there,

I dont know if I am missing something, but I've insttalled laserfiche client on my machine, however when I open my Outlook 2013, it does not show up the Laserfiche tab like before, when i used in the past in other versions.

Am I missing any configuration?

is the office integration responsable to add the tabs in all office products like outlook??

ps: the tab in Microsoft Word it shows without any problem, only outlook that does not.

Thanks for the help

regards,

Vitor

Can you confirm that the Laserfiche Outlook(2013) Add-in is listed and can be enabled directly in Outlook?

Please see KB 1013532. Note that if there's still an issue after following the steps in that article, then it may be because there's an equivalent attribute set under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Outlook2013SaveToLaserfiche.SaveInOutlook that is overwriting the value set under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. In any case, check the LoadBehavior value under HKEY_CURRENT_USER and make sure that is also set to 3.

Hello Alexander,

I've tried to apply the KB, and I also check HKEY_CURRENT_USER, but still not showing!, You mention that if still with the issue would be because of an equivalent attribute, what do you mean by that?, because i found indeed the path in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Outlook2013SaveToLaserfiche and added the DWORD value, should I take off? so that would not have a equivalent value as in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE?

Thanks for the help.

Vitor

So to clarify, under

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Outlook2013SaveToLaserfiche.SaveInOutlook

you have added the DWORD

LoadBehavior

with the value

3

and when closing and reopening Outlook 2013, the Laserfiche plugin still isn't loading? If you go into Outlook 2013 options, are you able to manually enable the add-in?

So, yes, I added a DWORD Load Behavier with value 3, and then I closed and did open again and still no loading. I also did try to add manually by going in options, customize the ribbon, but laserfiche does not show up there.

Are there any Outlook warnings reported in the application event log? They may look like

Outlook disabled the following add-in(s):

ProgID: Outlook2013SaveToLaserfiche.SaveInOutlook
GUID: {CFFDECED-CD2E-4EEF-83AB-6975A233DCE3}
Name: Laserfiche Outlook(2013) Add-in
Description: Allows users to save the current electronic document to a Laserfiche repository.
Load Behavior: 3
HKLM: 1
Location: mscoree.dll
Threshold Time (Milliseconds): 1000
Time Taken (Milliseconds): 1531
Disable Reason: This add-in caused Outlook to start slowly.
Policy Exception (Allow List): 0

If those warnings are occurring, then go to the registry, browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Resiliency\DisabledItems, and check if there are any entries there. If so, check the values of the entries and delete the ones corresponding to the Laserfiche Outlook(2013) Add-in.

Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Resiliency, create a new key named DoNotDisableAddinList. Then under this key, create a new DWORD entry named Outlook2013SaveToLaserfiche.SaveInOutlook and set its value to 1.

Hello again,

So, I could not find these warnings in the event viewer.

Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\...\15.0\Outlook\Resiliency\DisabledItem, I found 3 entries, and I am not sure if they correspond Outlook 2013. And I created the DWORD value under DoNotDisableAddinList. However still disabling.

I only found a information message about an event of Outlook, which is in the txt attached.

We had the exact same problem and we have found a solution today. We were looking in regedit for the wrong user.

Open CMD and run this command to find your user's SID

wmic useraccount get name,sid

Then go to regedit then

HKEY_USERS\[User SID]\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Outlook2013SaveToLaserfiche.SaveInOutlook

and set LoadBehavior to 3

Our users with this issue had 0 as value and it worked right after we changed the value to 3.

You can add the key and then create the LoadBehavior dword and set it to 3.

I am having a lot of trouble with the Office 2013 version of Outlook.  It says the add in is running or enabled but it is slowing things down. No tab shows on Outlook.

Good Day dears,

I'm facing the exact same problem on a customer's user machine. I've already followed the steps in the mentioned KB.

The thing is, while following these steps i didn't found the outlook folder under HKEY_CURRENT_USER. In fact, i found it under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

In addition, even under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, the customer is using outlook 2016, i didn't found the Key related to outlook 2016 (Outlook2016SaveToLaserfiche.SaveInOutlook).

My questions now are,

  1. Can we add the key ourselves inside this directory and set the value to 3?
  2. Do you have any idea why HKEY_CURRENT_USER doesn't have the mentioned path in the KB?
  3. is adding the key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and setting the value to 3, convenient to solve the issue without any problem ?

Your help is much appreciated on this issue!

Thanks in advance!
