Trying to disabled TextProvider.exe text extraction process

posted on March 31, 2015

Here is how I have it configured. Is this not correct? isn't there just a way we can turn this off in administration console?

Hello,

I'm sorry that it is not supported in administration console currently, we will add it to our feature backlog.

Your settings are correct (Please make sure there is no extra spaces at the end of the registry value name. I cannot tell it from the screen.). After this, all electronic documents won't be extracted and indexed. You can view supported extensions in "Electronic Text Extraction" tab in administration console. The extension list should be empty. If there are still extensions, you may try restarting LFS and LFFTS.

See this thread for all TextProvider settings for both x64 and win32.

We don't want to extract text server side on a schedule any longer. The users have the option to do so using their processing power if needed. We may be interested in offloading or re-scheduling to run another time, but for now they want to at least stop the schedule until we find another resource for handling the processing.

What issue are you trying to address by doing this?
