Question

I can't deactivate a license manually

asked on March 27, 2015

Hello,

I try to deactivate the Web Access licence because it tells me that the license has reached is limits (except that it's the only computer that use this license, anyway...).

So I use this page to help me :

https://support.laserfiche.com/KB/1012301

I've already use this tech with another computer and for other Laserfiche product without issue but now the console command display this message "ActivationTool.exe is not known as Internal or External command, executable software or command file."

Can someone tell me what went wrong, please ?

Can you post the command you were using to deactivate? The error you posted usually happens because you don't have the right path to the executable file, so Windows default to looking in C:\Windows\System32 or the current folder.

Ok, my bad.

I typed the server folder path, that's why it didn't work first and I get this message. But now that my Command prompt window is in the Web Access folder, when I type the same command line:

ActivationTool.exe -deactivate -key WA090-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx -fingerprint 00262CC80B922CF7B411015E4EC6F2 -hostid 00-15-17-53-47-11

I get a little window that open and then an error message ending with this:"FingerprintNoMatchExceptionMsg".

I get this fingerprint by copy/paste the "Legacy hardware Fingerprint" displayed with the showhwfp.exe in the server install folder.

Are you on Web Access 8.1? If not, you should be using the Hardware Fingerprint, not the Legacy Hardware Fingerprint.

Additionally, let's me sure this is actually what you want to be doing. What do you mean by "it tells me that the license has reached is limits (except that it's the only computer that use this license, anyway...)"? When are you seeing a message about a license reaching its limits, and what exactly is the message?
