Question

Snapshot driver settings in the registry

asked on February 19, 2015

Does anyone know where the Snapshot settings are stored within the registry? I wanted to see if I could check the registry key and see if the "Force printer DPI" option was stored in it. If anyone knows please fill me in.

Hi Cristobal,

I can see a lot of configuration options at [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Printers\Laserfiche Snapshot]

Although that seems more OS related settings.

I also see some options in
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Laserfiche\Snapshot8\Profile\CurrentUser]

I'm guessing it's got to be in there somewhere? Not sure.

I used Windows Process Monitor to track regsitry changes when I clicked ok after selecting the force printer DPI option. And it noted changes in HKCU\Printers\DecModes2\Laserfiche Snapshot. But that file looks very complex with lots of switches in it. Over to LF I guess. indecision I'm stumped... wink

Thanks Chris! The registry key that I was looking for was in HKCU\Printers\DevModes2\Laserfiche Snapshot and

HKCU\Printers\DevModesPerUser\Laserfiche Snapshot

These two registry keys were the ones that I needed to export. These keys are Binary Keys that hold all of the printing preferences. I had been looking in this area though it was not initially showing in my registry. I have tested importing these two keys to other machines and have verified that it works. This also does not change the connection settings for Laserfiche for that is stored in another key. Again thanks for the help!
