Question

Forms web url without the /forms part ?

asked on February 15, 2015

We want to have forms.ourdomain.com as the url to our forms server as it is standalone server. However upon installation we are stuck with forms.ourdomain.com/forms as the path. Is there a way to do the forms installation so /forms part is stripped out and uses only the domain/main url instead ?

You can either redirect your forms.ourdomain.com default site to forms.ourdomain.com\forms or you can go into the default site properties and change the path of the default site to point to the same path as the Forms virtual site.

Ya but will it actually change the "publish" path inside LF forms and the embed code ?

We want the embed code to change as well and the actual publish path to be "sans" /forms part.

Can you elaborate more on why Bert's solution wouldn't work for you? What is the problem you are trying to solve? It's a common setup. We use it something similar, for example, on webdemo.laserfiche.com so that users do not have to type the virtual directory /WebLink8.

Forms cannot currently be installed as a top-level website. See also this duplicate thread.
