Install of Forms without Default Website

asked on November 3, 2014

Hello,

We have a client that is installing forms on a public facing webserver.  For security purposes, the default website is turned off.  We have configured it in such a way that the Forms website is on its own, and the config page is a VD.  We can get to the Forms website, but when we try and go to the config VD, the page breaks.  The client doesn't really want the config page to be public facing, and assign an IP just for the config page.

What is the proper way to go about setting it up in this manner?

Thanks for your help!

Forms installation supports to choose the install web site since Forms 9.1 and it will put both Forms and FormsConfig under the same web site.

If you are using Forms 9.1 or above, we'd like to know you choose the web site during installation or configure manually after installation. If you configure manually, please take screenshots for the Forms and FormsConfig settings in IIS.

Scott,

Like Xiuhong says in her post, that configuration is not supported. Forms and FormsConfig need to be applications at the same level under a site. You can choose one of the existing sites or create one specifically for Forms and then select it in the installation.

Can you show me the advanced settings for the EightyOne website, and the bindings?

We would like the URL to be something like forms.ci.boca-raton.fl.us, but not exactly sure how you would have that if the Website is called Forms and the application is called forms.

Mine was just set up on a separate port, not with host headers. But if having users go to forms.ci.boca-raton.fl.us is important, why not install Forms to this website as applications. You can then use the URL rewrite module in IIS to redirect http://forms.ci.boca-raton.fl.us  to http://forms.ci.boca-raton.fl.us/forms
