Question

Standard Server Licensing and Workflow

asked on February 4, 2015

We have a client with Laserfiche Standard Server and Workflow 9.1.1 with multiple workflows running at all times. Since Workflow is multi-threaded, the user that workflow runs under (named WORKFLOW) is usually listed many many times in the Activity>Sessions node of the Admin Console. In Standard Server licensing, do each one of these use a concurrent connection? For example, if there are 20 WORKFLOW user connections active, does that use 20 of the available pool of concurrent licenses? Or since it is the same user from the same machine and application, does it only use 1?

Thanks!

The user specified in Workflow connection profiles does not count against the concurrent session limits for concurrent users. The user does not need to be a named user in Avante/Rio and does not use a licensed session in United/Standard setups.

Raymond - that thread only mentions named user licenses - I was trying to get something definitive about concurrent, and Miruna has spelled it out perfectly - thank you both for your quick response!
