LF Server not getting updated by License Manager

asked on January 28, 2015

Hi All,

One of our customers is having issues getting Licence Manager to push out notifications for new users to the LF server/s from Licence Manager. I’m assuming this has to do with an issue with UDP port 5055 being blocked somehow (although the LM and LF server are on the same machine and AV and firewall’s are totally off so no idea what!?) Re-starting the LF server service updates the LF server as this uses a different protocol to communicate again affirming my theory of port 5055 being blocked.

Has anyone else seen this before?

I’m also assuming the communication method is different for the new Directory Server? This may be an option for a workaround if it works differently to LM.

Can someone from Laserfiche please shed some light on this (LF support case is 158435 if you need any more info).

Cheers!

Even if notifications are working fine between the License Manager and Laserfiche Server, the Laserfiche Server won't automatically update its named users from License Manager instantaneously. The Server only updates itself a few times a day. How long has the customer waited before having to restart the Laserfiche Server service? If it's been more than 24 hours and the Laserfiche Server hasn't picked up the change yet, then I'd recommend upgrading to Laserfiche Server 9.2. Otherwise, if they would like the change to be instantaneous, then a restart of the Laserfiche Server is needed. See this thread for more details.

Thanks for the update Alexander,

I didn't realize it wasn't supposed to be instant. That's good to know however!

"The Server only updates itself a few times a day. "

Is there a way to set the frequency on which the server checks for an update?
Perhaps some registrysetting that can be applied to set this frequency?
