Despite exporting the most recent version of the .licx file from the root of the Licence Manager server, and browsing to this same file after the Directory Server installation, I can't seem to carry over the list of Windows Named Users, or the registered machines associated with other applications.
Is there something I'm doing wrong with the export and import of the master licence file? I also tried referencing the master file under C:\ProgramData\LicenceManager, but this didn't work either. I know I could start from scratch and build up the list of users and registered machines, but I'd rather take the easy route if possible.
Thanks to anyone who can assist!

Question
Unable to transition from Laserfiche Licence Manager to Directory Server
Answer
The license does not have any information on the assigned named users or applications. You want to use the migration option in Directory Service and point to the .db file from License Manager.

Hi,
What browser your are using? IE?
We had a similar problem, we also were trying to upgrade to DS, but when we got to the part that should import the data from License Manager, when we would select the db didn't go, but as soon as we tried with another browser like firefox did work. I took a few seconds but started to import the users and information!
Interesting...I tried the import using Chrome last night, but I'll try with both IE and FireFox tonight - thanks!
Oh okay, I don't think I quite followed that sequence of steps previously. I'll give this a go tonight and let you know how it works out - thanks!
Hey Miruna:
Thanks for your help with this.
After creating a backup of the db file from the Laserfiche Licence Manager, I installed Directory Server, and used the migration option to reference this file. When I did, however, it said the licence file was already in use, this despite the Licence Manager service no longer on the machine.
Is there something I need to do, after uninstalling the Licence Manager and installing the Directory Server, to make this db file available for use?
Marty
It sounds like the activation key was still activated for License Manager so the Laserfiche Directory Service couldn't activate it. You can manually deactivate it using the ActivationTool. Your reseller can work with Tech Support to provide you the hardware fingerprint if you no longer have it.
But that's just a guess, so it's probably best if you work with Tech Support on it.
No problem, I have someone here I can work with to hopefully transition from one to the other - thanks!
