Question

Error Code: 6317 Permission Denied

asked on October 30, 2014

I have a group of users that is getting the attached message when trying to scan using DataNOW Affinity.  They can import just fine.  They are a group of power users and already have more rights than most people.  The weird thing is that the regular users can scan no problem, but the power users have to use the import process rather than the desktop scanners to directly attach items.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

What version of the LF client are the problem users using (help > about)?

It's in the error message:-)  It's 8.2.1.724.

We will be upgrading, but it's been pushed to 1st quarter of 2015 and that will be to 9.1.1.

Thanks!

Are the users scanning into the same location and volume that they are using when using File > Import or drag and drop?

If you use a different scanner, does it work?

Just an update - I'm still waiting for the user to test this.

Thanks!

Greetings!

Sorry if this has already been resolved but we have version 10.2 for our org and to resolve this issue we had to grant delete permissions to the user trying to delete a folder. Previously they had a repo account, and it was not transferred over. Once I enabled the Delete function, we were able to delete.

There may be other scenarios where they don't need to delete but changing the permissions for them allowed us to resolve it. Of course following best practices, it good to give them less.
