Question

Associating e-Portal licensing with the latest version of Laserfiche Forms

asked on October 24, 2014

This morning, I was attempting to upgrade Laserfiche Forms in our live Laserfiche environment to 9.2 to match our test environment, which was upgraded successfully yesterday.  On the Licence Server, when I tried generating a new application instance of Laserfiche Forms (associated with version 9.2), opting to use the Forms Portal feature, I am presented with the message, "The feature 'Forms Portal' has reached the licence limit. [2080]".  Recognizing the application instance (i.e. the one associated with version 9.1) was still in the list of existing licences, I removed this instance, but I experienced the same error when I tried to register the application instance again.  I also tried going through the installation from the installation CD, selecting "Activate using the Laserfiche Rio License Manager", but when I proceeded this route, the same error happened here as well.

Is there something additional I need to do to unregister this application instance, or might there be something else I need to do elsewhere to have this happen?  I tried restarting the Laserfiche License Manager service, but this didn't appear to help either.

Thanks in advance for anyone who can assist.

Two questions:

1) Are you using License Manager 8.3, or Directory Server 9.2?

2) What were the steps you took to remove the instance?
