Hello All.
We have had this as an ongoing problem for some time. We are an accounting firm that deals in legal issues. Our para team processes thousands of documents into Laserfiche each month. Most are PDFs. When processing pdfs, Snapshot has been pretty consistent about printing approximately 1 to 3 pages per second. Lately, we've been getting calls that Snapshot is "slow". What we find is, some documents are snapshotting normally, but then some other document will take anywhere from 1 page every 30seconds to 1 minute - to snapshot.
We've been working on the theory that the user's computer was the issue because it seems to be random and affect only one user at a time. However, today - the ENTIRE para team saw this behavior. It is bizzare. Again - not all documents do this - only random documents.
We've checked the following:
OCR is turned off
Settings are on Monochrome Floyd-Steinberg
The size of the document doesn't seem to matter (it could be a really large or really small document that gets "stuck")
No problems or high usage on our LF server
WE store our volumes on a different server - no issues there either
No issues on SQL server.
Network appears normal - although I see spikes sometimes, but we really have no bandwidth problems.
We've made exceptions in virus protection (in fact that's what we're testing now)
We've uninstalled Windows updates
THe users computers are x64 bit Windows 7 with 8gb RAM and i5 processors
Servers LF server and the Volume Server are both 2008 R2
I also don't understand the full snapshot process well enough to tell where the issue is happening and how to find it....I guess if I could log the process as it runs - but I'm assuming that would be difficult because it happens in multiple places, am I right?
I am out of ideas. This is really slowing down their work and causing unrest amongst the natives....I fear for pitchforks and torches at my office door. If anyone has any thoughts, I'm willing to try. The problem occurs so randomly that we can't seem to recreate.
Thanks in advance for any help or hints.
